Maxim specialises in legal support for foreign economic activities, including currency regulation and control issues, the application of tax law, analyses administrative and criminal legal risks in the field of foreign economic activity and special economic measures (sanctions regime). In addition, he handles corporate law projects such as acquisitions and disposals of shares, distribution of profits and dividends and other corporate matters involving different foreign parties in connection with the special sanctions regulation both from Russian law and foreign law perspective.

Maxim supports projects for the conversion of depositary receipts issued for shares of Russian companies (Gazprom, Rosneft, Sberbank, etc.), with the converted shares being credited to accounts opened for clients (he has supported the conversion of depositary receipts worth over 5 million euro).

Maxim graduated from the Faculty of International Law of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) and holds a Master of Laws degree of MGIMO in International Economic Law.

He speaks English and German fluently.

Maxim's research interests include private international law and issues of sanctions and other restrictive measures in international and Russian law.
